Linseed
Linseed is an annual herb growing to about 60cm in height and cultivated in most temperate and tropical regions. Producing violet-blue five-petal flowers  from June to August, and a capsule containing about ten seeds. 30-40% fixed oil including linoleic, linolenic and oleic acids, mucilage (6%), protein (25%), the oil contains vitamins A, B, D and E, minerals and amino acids. Linseed oil is an valuable source of essential fatty acids which can help prevent the build-up of fatty deposits in the tissues.
