Oyster shells are almost pure calcium carbonate (95-99%) and are good sources of
calcium for most birds. Calcium Carbonate is readily absorbed helping build
bones. During the breeding season Oyster shells help by providing the hen bird
with the extra calcium required for egg laying. Fine grade is appropriate for
small parrots and parakeets, finches and british birds.
